- A 3D file (STEP or IGES) and a 2D drawing with tolerances. If only a 3D model exists, say which dimensions are critical.
- Material family and grade, and the condition it should be machined in: annealed, pre-hardened, or hardened before wire EDM.
- Quantity now and the expected repeat volume. One-off prototypes and repeat batches are routed differently.
- Surface finish, and whether fit dimensions apply before or after coating.
- Inspection requirements: first-article report, material certificate, sampling level, or full inspection.
