Turned Flanged Shaft with Threaded Section and Matching Retainer Rings
A stepped shaft with a turned flange, a short external thread and a drilled and tapped flange face, supplied with matching retainer rings carrying a shaped internal profile. The controlling relationship is the running diameter to the flange face.
Material
Stainless Steel SUS304
Tolerance
Runout ≤ 0.02 mm, running diameter h7
Process
CNC Milling, CNC Turning
What This Part Does And What Matters On It
The function of the part, the features that carry the fit, and the requirements that decided how it was machined and checked.
A stepped shaft with a turned flange, a short external thread and a drilled and tapped flange face, supplied with matching retainer rings that carry a shaped internal profile. The shaft is turned and the flange features are milled and drilled on the same work order, so the relationship between the bolt pattern and the shaft axis is produced in one place.
The relationship that controls this part is the running diameter to the flange face: a shaft that measures correctly on every individual dimension can still run out if that relationship is lost between setups. Runout is checked on centres with a dial indicator, and the thread is gauged when the drawing states a class of fit.
Tell us which feature is the datum in your assembly, and give us the measured size of the mating part if it already exists.

Have A Part Like This On Your Drawing?
Send the drawing with the material, quantity, and the tolerances your inspection actually checks. Owen reviews it against how this part was run and comes back within 24 hours on business days with a price, a lead time, and DFM notes before you commit to anything.
How This Part Was Machined
Turned in one chucking for the running diameter, shoulder and flange face so they share one axis; flange holes drilled and tapped on the machining centre from the turned datum. Retainer ring profiles wire cut.
How This Part Was Checked
Diameters with micrometers at both ends of each feature, runout on centres with a dial indicator, thread with go/no-go gauges.
Running and fit diameters at both ends of each feature
Runout of running diameter to flange face
External thread class 6g
Every Quote Comes With DFM Notes
Owen reads the drawing before pricing it: tolerances that add cost, features that need a second setup, finishes that change lead time. Send a STEP or PDF with the material and quantity, and the quote reflects what is actually machinable, within 24 hours on business days.
Material Certificates And Inspection Reports Travel With The Parts
Tell Owen which records your receiving inspection needs: mill certificates, first article report, CMM report, certificate of conformance, or all of them. They are agreed at quoting, not requested after the parts arrive.
Have A Similar Part? Send The Drawing.
A STEP, IGES, or PDF file with the material, quantity, and the tolerances that matter is enough to start. You get a price, a lead time, and manufacturability feedback from a real person, not a bot.
