Wire-Cut Blade Insert Set for Connector Stamping Tooling

A set of stamping tooling inserts: stacked blade packs cut on a fixed pitch, formed contact blades, and marked locating plates. Slot widths here are below what a cutter can enter, so the profiles are wire cut and the blanks are milled.

Material

Tool Steel SKD11, 58–60 HRC

Tolerance

Slot width ±0.005 mm, pitch ±0.01 mm

Process

What This Part Does And What Matters On It

The function of the part, the features that carry the fit, and the requirements that decided how it was machined and checked.

A set of stamping tooling inserts: stacked blade packs cut on a fixed pitch, formed contact blades, and marked locating plates. The slot widths on the blade packs are below what a milling cutter can enter, so the blanks are milled to size and the profiles are wire cut.

What matters on this set is the pitch across each pack, the blade thickness, and the position of the profiles relative to the datum edges the parts locate on in the die. Slot widths are checked with pin gauges and the packs are measured optically before the set is released.

If the inserts replace tooling already in a press, send the last inspection report you accepted along with the drawing; it tells us where the previous set actually landed inside the tolerance band.

Manufacturing Details

How This Part Was Machined

Blanks milled to size soft, hardened, then slots and profiles wire cut after heat treatment. Slot widths are below cutter size, so every profile is a wire EDM feature; datum edges are ground before cutting.

Every Quote Comes With DFM Notes

Owen reads the drawing before pricing it: tolerances that add cost, features that need a second setup, finishes that change lead time. Send a STEP or PDF with the material and quantity, and the quote reflects what is actually machinable, within 24 hours on business days.
